A very well done to everyone that rode today at the first of the two Steady Eddy Extreme events. It was a wet one but to be fair you all rode well, especially those who have never tried their hands at extreme events before.
In the challenging conditions it was up and coming extreme enduro star Jamie Williams who lead the event from start to finish. Jamie, who has clocked up some serious bike time this year at some of the big prestigious hard enduro events, proved he is going to be a challenging player in the field of extreme/hard enduro in the years to come, by lapping everyone twice by the end of the two hours. Scott Hipwell, also new to extreme events and very good friend of Jamie, also proved that he will be a tidy rider as he gets older with a superb ride leading the sportamns class for most of the two hours and actually taking the class win and second overall at the flag.
A big shout out must also go to one of our youth riders, Morgan Williams, who despite the initial pre event nerves being his first try at extreme events rode brilliantly being in 16th place at the end of lap one but digging in hard to creep forward through the pack to finish up in eighth place overall and first in class.
As we do at Fast Eddy in weather like today there are no non-finishers so we hope you all enjoyed the event and we would love to see you at round two at Cowm Quarry, Whitworth on 11th November.
Here are today’s results:
